All three browsers shut down

Hi.

I am located in Turkey where You Tube has been banned for some time. to get round this I edited the hosts file in the windows directory which is a common solution to the issue used here.

All other computers I've done this one work fine with this method, but now on this particular computer, when I open youtube.com Firefox, Internet Explorer AND Google Chrome all give error messages and shut down. Without fail. If I then restart any of the browsers and go into to some other random site it occasionally shuts down again but only definately when I go into youtube.com/

I've done virus and adware checks but no difference.

What could an issue like this stem from?

I tried that but it didn't work, now even just typing youtube into google will lock them up.

have you checked to see you edited the host files correctly and no mistakes were made?

what is the exact error message it gives

When you say it didn't work, do you mean the program didn't run or it didn't find anything?

Found stuff, fixed them all but to no avail.
Good idea about the hosts file, I'll try replacing it with the hosts file from my own computer.
