I checked my bios and it said my processor is at 71c and the internal temp is 44c and remote temp is 45c.

Does that mean that my cpu is at 71c????

I would think so, yes. Especially a Pentium D OCed to 3GHz without adequeate cooling. Make sure you fan is still working and use some other programs to corroborate.

My cpu is not overclocked. Atleast I don't think so because I don't think so.

My bios says 71 c but Everest says 44c.

If my cpu is at 71 c than I think thats WAYYY to hot.

it could be that your proccessor is that hot... touch the heat sink on top of your pentium and if its that hot then there you go...

Is it gonna be a problem? Ive had it for almost a year or a year now and nothing even went wrong.

Pentium D's run hot;I know because I have the Pentium D 960.Don't worry about it your CPU is fine. You can always buy a Zalman CPU cooler though. It should make your processor run anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees F cooler.

If your comp is stable don't worry about it if you had over heating you would get crashes or reboots. Some motherboards show the temp wrong some temp utilities are wrong. I would never use stock coolers these days their just too loud and don't allow much over clocking. Zaleman coolers are the best big and easy to replace onto a new processor onece the backplate is on the motherboard and their very quiet.

Not really, I have a pentium D 945 @ 3.825GHz and it idles at 37 degrees with an max of 55 degrees under load and that is in summer, in winter it gets even lower.
