Amazon fire tablet not loud enough

Hi guys, I'm new here today! My Fire is nowhere near loud enough so I wondered if there was a simple cure. Having read the above, it seems that the type of headphones can make a big difference. But I want the volume to be reasonable from the speaker, so headphones are not the answer for me.
I can't even find any tech info about the socket. I could connect to my hi-fi system but first I need to know how many poles the socket has. I'm assuming left audio out, right audio out, microphone in, and earth, making four poles altogether. I then need to know which pole performs which function so that I can wire a plug to suit. The only one I could be reasonably sure of is that the body would be earth, but even that is not certain.
I then need to know what the audio output impedances are, and what the microphone input impedance is.
If I did the above, then I could use the Fire in the house. But it would not solve the problem of using it on-the-go because I'd still need the speaker output to be at a sensible level. Has anybody got any ideas?
Regards, Chris

The 3.5mm audio jack on the Fire should be wired the standard way (TRS):

I bet the Fire supports TRRS (with mic) as well, but you shouldn't have to worry about that when wiring a plug for it.

There's nothing you can do about the quiet built-in speaker unfortunately. An alternative would be to connect it to a Bluetooth speaker or other kind of portable speaker.

I'm curious as to why you need to "make a plug" for your hi-fi system. And if you're wiring to an amp input, why do you need to know impedances? You should be able to compensate for low output levels using your amp.
