Hi, everybody. I've researching phones lately and have decided it's time to upgrade(I currently have a Samsung Intercept threw virgin mobile). After doing lots of research i think I've narrowed down my phone choices. I was originally intending on waiting for the iPhone 5 to come out and then get it on sprint but it's just taking its own sweet time and i honestly don't think my current phone will last long enough to see it's arrival. From what I've looked at it looks to me that the best current phone i could get for my purposes is either the Droid Razr or the Droid Razr Maxx from Verizon. First i went and talked to a sales rep at my local Verizon retailer, and then i went and took a look around online to see where i could get it from on there. What i found was that amazon by far has the best price for both phones ($0.01 for the Razr and $199.00 for the Razr Maxx) At this point i'd decided that was the way to go, but i had a few questions concerning keep my old phone number, service options, insurance, so on and so forth. Anyway i did a live chat with a Verizon rep and they answered my questions very well but as soon as i mentioned that i was going to order it from amazon they did a little oh you shouldn't do that because it's safer to do it directly through us and when you do that you're agreeing to their terms as well and yada yada yada... To me it just sounded like they were feeding me lines trying not to lose out on a phone sale. Then i went and googled it and found nothing but good reviews for buying from amazon( along with many stories or verizon reps saying not to) however i did see that along with the Verizon $350 ETF when you buy from amazon you agree to a $250 ETF but that was all i could find that might be considered a deterrent from buying from amazon. Have any of you had an experience with this? I would like to get some un-biased opinions/advice as bias is all you get talking to sales reps. Thanks in advance...
