Uhh. What's your question? Yeah it's right. amd.com is probably a pretty reliable source on their own chipsets.

Are you wondering what CFX/SLI is?

It's when two cards "combine" and share the work to make it run smoother.. Similar to RAID configs, except a lot more limited.

CrossFireX is for Radeon cards, SLI for Nvidia.
They both have to be the same chipset.

x16 means the PCIe port.. There will be 2 on the Mobo.. Therefore your cards will run better together.

What about it? Yes, the 990FX features enough PCIe lanes to run 16x/16x.

On some boards if you use any other of the slots you may get something like 16x/8x/8x

Sorry about the phrasing the Quesion is (Can 990FX run SLI/CF in a 16x/16x combination)
And beers has answered it, thank you.

I was wondering because I though that only Intel X99/X79 chipsets could allow for 16x/16x config.

You're probably thinking of PCIe 3.0

990FX only comes with PCIe 2.0 lanes. X79/X99 were PCIe 3.0 which are twice as fast (so a 8x is as fast as PCIe 2.0 16x).
