Amd 3600+ , Amd 4600+

Ummm dude, the 3600+ is a socket AM2 sempron, the 4600+ is a socket 939 dual core CPU, they are competely different.

They have both the 939 and AM2 versions of the X2 4600+.

i would say the 4600, but whats the ghz on both of them
The X2 3800+ runs at 2.0Ghz, with 2 x 512KB of L2 Cache.

The X2 4600+ runs at 2.4Ghz, with 2 x 512KB of L2 Cache.

well there you go the minimum specs from omega,

the 4600 would be the best option but if you dont have the money for a 4600 then you wont really lose much from getting a 3800, as in you will only lose .4ghz but surely you can gain this back from overclocking

it doesnt sound as bad at ".4ghz" as it does as "400mhz"
lol the X2 3800+ is what i have and it runs faster than a 4600+ after my overclock. i highly suggest it.
it depends on what you're doing though. what do you plan on doing with the thing?

exactly if you want a cheap 4600 then a 3800 oc'd, but if you wish to get the clock spped alot higher, then a 4600 oc'd aswell

I just bought a 4600 x2 and there's not a major difference between this and my single 3500. I was wondering...how much more in ghz it can get after overclocking? And do i need a new fan or a cooling system to oc it?

Nice way to bump an old thread...

We can't tell you "how many more GHz" you can get, becuase it depends on the hardware you have.

A better cooling system may help you OC further, although stock is fine if you're not increasing the voltage much.
