hello trying to overclock to 3ghz and so far have been unsuccessful i can only get stable up to 2860
at 1.38 volts if i up the voltage at all it just locks up
multiplier x13
fsb is at 220
hypertransport 1100.1
ram is at 817 lowered to 667 still no success
any advice ?
this is my first time overclocking my cpu
msik9n4-sli mobo

I was having a similar problem with my 6000+ brisbane 3.1 ghz stock where I couldn't hit 3.4 ghz and could only do 3.3. stock voltage was 1.4 and I couldn't go 1.45 / 3.4 ghz without it being stable.

Someone told me to increase ram timings (you know instead of 4-4-4 to 5-5-5). You can try that.

AMD cpus dont overclock that well, maybe it's hit its limit.

Set your HT back to X4. Put your memory back to 667. Make sure your memory voltage is set right. You can go up to 1.45V with a 5200 without worrying to much. Just keep a eye on your temp.

my mobo doesnt support ht adjustments i dont think :(
and what would i change to adjust the timings on my memory?
because right now my speeds area ll over the place

at 2.925 stable so far with 1.42 v 40 c full load

found the problem with th evoltage changing apparently i had to disable "spread spectrum" in my bios on my cpu no idea what it actually does but found it in the manual haha

20 minutes in still at 41 c

but i jsut came back and both my sidebar and mozilla crashed to desktop but they are working and no blue screen does that still mean its unstable?

Run Orthos (google it) in order to see if it is absolutely stable. if your system can pass twenty minutes of that program it can survive a hurricane.

alright thanks yeah i guess when i get some more money ill have to upgrade a little bit better hopefully i wont have as much problems as i did with this one
and to lovely thanks ran it and crashed everytime :/ even with 1.6 v running to the core lol tried everything i really could tried downing my multiplier to 10 and 12 and upping the fsb to the 300 area and still nothing stable
oh well

thanks for the help
running at 2.860 stable all around

i got a big typhoon vx running at full speed and antec 300 5 120 mm fans and 1 140 until i can get my side case mod together ill have 2 side 120 fans and then im putting 2 more 120s on top with a mirrored finish glass mod from crazypc.com :D

but thats all after i upgrade my mobo

right now ive got it running at 1.951
1.47v
