Even though I am going to upgrade to a amd 64 I can still use my version of windows xp and everything will work right.....Is this correct? I have heard that they have a version of xp for the 64 bit however....Do I have to use it or will the old one be sufficient?

Thanks

The current version of Windows XP will work fine with the AMD64 2800+. Upgrading to XP 64 bit edition means that Windows will fully utilise 64 bit processing (unless you are using a 32 bit application of course)

you can still run 32 bit apps just fine, the only time that you would even knowtice an overall boost in preformance would be if you were to enable dual piplining by using some sort of 64 bit OS

For now, for convenience reasons, its prolly better you use XP32 unless you have specific reasons to use XP64 :P
