I have the AMD 64 3500 Socket 939... no idea what the  i am supposed to do to overclock it. its currently only sitting at 2.2GHz. any takers on walking me through this wonderful process? i want more out of it...

who said anything about a compaq on this one?? this thread is for MY pc. the compaq issue is a totally different pc bro.

it was probably my other thread. i have a thread going looking for suggestions on a com-crap issue im having. i think its in the motherboards area.

Got it OC'd from 2.2Ghz up to 2.6Ghz. Im not taking it any higher than that until i get a far better cooling sys. its running at 48C and i dont think i want it burning any hotter. my new issue is that my PC randomly shuts down. im at 1.55v and 236Mhz. any suggestions?

that prolly means your sys is unstable, did you take very light steps at overclocking? And you should get new cooling if you still have stock that would definetly help...

yeah, i baby stepped it. the first time i ever attempted an OC, i made way too many big jumps. ive heard of ppl making this thing run at 1.55v and OCing the processor to 3.2Ghz. but i fear that concept. i would melt everything i own. lol
