OK... I'm looking at these 2 processors but cant decide. Should i go with the FX or the X2? I don't do a whole lot of multitasking but i do do allot of gaming.

Right now I'm leaning towards the FX-57.

Anyone want to throw there opinion in?

Get the X2. Main reason is because its a dual-core, if you want to go the FX Route then you should get the FX60.

Hmm

Kinda tuff actually. I would lean more towards the X2. Although in most, if not all current games, the FX-57 will perform better than the X2. However, it is more than likely that upcoming games will begin using the advantage of dual cores. Hence either get the X2 4800+ or if you can afford it, go for the FX-60 (which is too expensive for now anyway).

JAN :D

its unanimous, i like that word, the X2, besides, they make things called graphics cards for gamers, by the time a single core processor runing at 2.4 ghz will beoutdated, all processors will have 2 or more cores and games will utilize both cores. hands down X2

It sounds like your saying that the CPU doesnt matter, and that it wont be outdated for a long time. Fact is, the CPU is what bottle necks games the most, even if you have an X2 series CPU, its still bottlenecking the video card.

i wuld personally go with the X2 it is amazing for gaming and its a great multitasker. although the FX-60 probably is 2. i think its overpriced though.

well considering the differences, it wouldnt be too bad, and is easily overclocked. also i think the GPU means alot more to gaming then a processor.
