easy question really whats better i know they run at the same clock speed 2.2 but the 4200 has 512K and the 4400 has 1Mb i want to know what one to get will i notice a difference

im not realy sure myself. Im ordering a 4400 next week, let me know where you find the cheapest ;)

It wont make much of a difference now since most games dont take advantage of dual cores. But in the future (within a year or so) games will support dual core, along with some apps. And then the X2 4200+ will perform much better then the 4400+.

mmm... ok say i buy a game for the x2 4400+ will it work on the x2 4200+ because there both the same clock speed no reason why it shouldnt work the cache doesnt matter really does it?

it wont be better NOW, but in the future it will, just like 64bit cpus dont make much of a difference now vs 32bit ones, but in the future they will.
