AMD am2+ processors fit it am2 slot montherboards?

Will am2+ slot cpus fit and be compatible with it? Theres an am2+ slot cpu being sold on ebay and the seller told me it would fit.
My mobo is oem and I dont want to need to update the bios. Thakns!

Seriously, on the internet site specifying my mobo it says

CPU Support

* Socket AM2 (940 pins)
* AMD Athlon 64, Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core and Sempron processors
* 1 GHz HyperTransport interface speed

If what you say is true then the internet site specifying my mobo specs pobably hasnt been updated since it was posted???

There has only been one Bios update on it and it says nothing about updated CPU support. But sure a AM2+ processor will fit a AM2 socket, but that doesnt mean the board supports it. Some OEMs never gave a bios update plus alot of AM2 OEM board/and retail never had the power setup to support a Phenom I

ok, thats what i was worried about. Ill have to stick to am2 socket.
