AMD and Nvidia charged with price fixing

Hehe...but really ,didnt we all deep down know this.prices and schedules and performance just too conveinant. I sure hope the oil companies dont get into cahoots with one another or we will be in trouble ;)

Yeap, I believe it. For years they both have had the next best product release within weeks of each other. I wonder how much its been going on since AMD gobbled them up?

Probably for a long time. I've always suspected it as well. I mean, why wouldn't they? It doesn't help either company to aggressively compete with each other - not if they don't have to. The messed up part is that this case will be settled, and neither company will admit wrong doing.

I think so to without a doubt, it will probably get settled out of court. At this point I dont think either one can afford to have their trash drug out. Kinda funny AMD is doing the same thing but the opposite way to Intel about locking them out of the market.

yeah I know it happens in other product industries.Ati/nvidia big wigs meeting with each other to decide on what guideline for upcoming cards.

Sample meeting:

Nvidia Big dog ,"Well I guess we had last generation of high performing cards so this generation is your time to have top cards.Remember we only make performance jumps of 10 %,okay.Btw ,how do you like how we milked the 8800 series of cards with small increments?"

Ati Big Dog,"That was awesome I am truly inpressed that the pubic could fall that easy for that,we may have to do that on our next line of cards."

Nvidia Big Dog ,"Thanks we try our best (lights cuban cigar with $100 bill from excess profits of overpriced gtx 280 while they both laugh evily)

Ati Big Dog,"Same agreement as before, only push enough where if they want to max top games they have to crossfire/Sli and buy 2 of our cards"

Nvidia Big Dog,"Of course no reason to stop now We both need an extra lamborghini .My old one is almost a year now.Haha."

lol, well put scoobs. that is serious bull crap. i almost wish a 3rd company would come along and break the oligopoly (big word courtesy of college economics).

The funny thing is..... I totally believe it and it does not surprise me at all....

Welcome to the United States of Capitalism.

Yup, doesnt surprise me either, we need some more companies back in the enthusiast market, 2 companies just plain sucks because they can charge whatever they please for their products, and there are going to be people out there who buy them whether they are worth the cost or not.

It's kind of like if the United States only had two different gas stations, Exxon and Mobil. Everyone knows they work together at the corporate level, but they remain seperate stations out on the street.
