I have D.O.T. with my ASUS A8v-E SE and have been upping the clocks bit by bit. Where Im at now my temp is steady under load at 53 C and 44 at isle. What is the max I should let it get to without reducing component life?

AMD says 70 C but I dont believe that for a second.

Those temps right there are kinda high... i wouldnt go above about 55-57, imo. You may want to invest in a good cooler, such as the CNPS-9500.

Yeah I didnt htink 70 was anywhere in the ballpark. Im overclocked but a small amount on the 2d and 3d clocks an the memory clock from 1400 to 1520 and gaqming im at 53 C. Would you go liquid or just add some more fans. Also is thermal paste a heat sink of some kind or i it just to shield parts from other hot parts?

Thank you for all the info. Last question: Am I right in assuming I can turn my clockspeed up continuously as long as I keep it at the right temp?
