Can you game with this CPU? I mean it sounds so good for the price! 1mb cache, 64-bit support, only downsides are its 90nm and its a single core.

It must be better than a Pentium 4, and people are saying its better than the first AMD Dual cores (3800+ etc.)

Im thinking of building a small portable gaming computer and this seems like a perfect CPU for it.

I had a 1.8GHz Sempron w/ an 8500GT + 2.5GB DDR-400(dual-channel) and that rig was a killer gaming machine. Now, that CPU you got there is way more powerful (higher clock, heaps more cache which makes the CPU happy when gaming). That CPU should play CoD4 pretty good provided you have a powerful enough graphics card, 8600GT may do for medium settings but I would go slightly higher (9600GT/GSO or HD4670). Either way, 8600GT & LE-1640 exceeds the minimum specs by a fair bit, but I would invest just a tiny bit more in a dual-core (AMD's lower end of dual-cores go for a ridiculously low price, AFAIK, so it shouldn't hurt your wallet at all). However, the short answer to your question: yes you can game with it without dying of lag stroke. None too heavy games, though...

Oh yeah! Im not going to be doing any extreme gaming at all, like crysis :D Im not that stupid :P. Just moderate gaming such as warrock, Cod4, im really into FPS right now.

You never know I might be able to pull up enough money to buy a HD 4830, 8800gt, or another good graphics card.
