Okay well i recently acquired an Emachine computer that has an AMD Athon 64 processor (listed below)

To replace my AMD Duron, i had been using until two out of my 3 hard drives died over a course of 6 months. My primary just died and i lost everything including my OS and the key, since it was a custom built computer.
I was wondering if I could efficiently run a 64 bit OS on it, since it is compatible. I'm just worried since its a legacy that it might not handle it as well as the 32 bit version.
I'm buying an upgrade of ram to a gig instead of the 512 and will possibly buy a graphics card just to free up more ram.
Would I be better off sticking with the 32 bit OS I already have installed or should I upgrade to the 64?

I'd stay with 32bit. Unless you're planning on using in excess of 4gb of RAM, stay 32bit. It's easier to handle (less compatibility issues,. driver issues, etc) and you don't need to go through a lot of unnecessary hassle.
