AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ or intel quad core 2.4ghz?

what % better would you say the quad is than the amd 4600?

theres about double for the cores difference, then theres the fact that core 2 architecture is awesome compared to AMD's architecture, and can overclock way farther, even i used to be an AMD fanboy, but that all changed with my e4500

I am seriously considering the Core 2 Duo E4600 for my next upgrade. It will either be that or the new Phenom processors coming out soon.

Well I dont agree with that, theres way to much Intel fanboyism going on here. Show me any benchmark where it takes double GHZ for the AMD for the same preformance comparing X2 against X2 and X4 against X4. More like about a 1/3 if even that. And as for architecture actually the AMD is more advanced-monolithic quad- onboard memory controller- Hypertyransport. You can strap a jet engine on a vega to out run a corvette but does that mean its more advanced?
