AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 fast enough for gaming?

I apriciate the help I got in the last post, and I'm at the edge of buying my upgrade but I need to be sure that a
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 or a 5600
would be fast enough for new games such and GTA IV and Aliens VS Predator cupled with a HD5770 and 4GB ram.
if not I'd have to save up more for a new motherboard but I need to move fast so I can get a CPU from e-bay!

Yes it will be fast enough. Although it will be bottlenecking that 5770 and you won't be able to use the card full potential.
