AMD haven't been the cheapest CPUs recently, it was true a while ago but not anymore. Intel smartly released their dual cores at a price that is just a little more expensive than a single cored CPU to speed the transition to dual core.

so 2*3.2ghz = 6.4ghz so intel have 6.4ghz comapred to amds 4.8 ghz and intel are the cheapest

NOT TRUE. Having tow cores does not mean you add up the frequencies. In fact the AMD would be a better performer I believe.

JAN :D

Werent you going to get a FX55? ;) (yes I still remember and yes I can still find the posts :P)

Whoever told you AMD has the cheapest CPUs either (a) is a fanboy or (b) hasnt checked the recent price breakdown

so intel are more faster and cheaper now??????!!!!!!
They've always been faster. As for cheaper, it depends on the model comparisons

so 2*3.2ghz = 6.4ghz so intel have 6.4ghz comapred to amds 4.8 ghz and intel are the cheapest
Yes 2x3.2GHz = 6.4GHz but that has no meaning whatsoever in the computer world. A dual core processor running at 3.2GHz is running at 3.2Ghz -- if it was runing at a different speed, it would say so on the sticker.

Youve not been here for more than few weeks and considering you've ticked off Admin/Mods by incessent advertisements for that site is NOT a conducive step to being around for a few more weeks.

yes praetor im going thailand this summer so im going to get all my pc parts from there(the amd 64 x2 4800+) considering its soooooooooo much cheaper there or i may buy a laptop because i still ahvnt got my birthday present of my parents yet :P

amd's dual cores are faster than intels, google for benchies!

What kind of benchmarkks, gaming benchmarks (3DMarkxx), Overall (PCMarkXX), business tests, system tests?

From my understanding, AMD's are usually better at gaming, so they would probably get a higher score then intels. But if you run a system test, intels would probably come out on top.

we don't need to get into this faster argument again do we? Intel chips are faster than AMD (performance is another story), processor speed is measured in Hz and Intel has more.

So a engine at 6000RPM with 135HP is better then a 900RPM engine at 1450HP?

For the love of god man! I said it's faster, I didn't say one was better than the other. Using your analogy the 135HP engine @ 6000RPM is running faster than the 1450HP @900RMP

You know the way some people cant tell between colors cuz they're color blind? Well this is a case of where people cant tell between the words "faster" and "better"
