AMD Athlon 64

VENICE VENIVE VENICE VENICE VENICE VENICE VENICE.........fantastic for overclocking.I have an athlon 3000 overclocked to 2400 mhz and all without a change in the temperature or system stability.

My vote

Venice/San Diego cores ;). I think that it's among the best for overclocking. I have my 3000+ at 2.6Ghz and believe that it could go further with a better mobo.

JAN :D

you can push a 3000+ up to 2,7 GHz "safely",
and above that (2.8 is possible,.. i dont know if you can go further)
at least.. a venice 3000+ @ 2,7 GHz euquals a fx-55 ;)

yep :)
here, same mobo ram and grafics, just the prosessor changed in doom 3.

Thats pretty awesome, so if I bought a 3700 I could OC to 3 gigahertz easily?
I thought you usualy only overclock like 200 megahertz, and 300 megehertz was like a major OC. Guess I was wrong.

Edit: Oh wait I see why I cant OC to 3 gigahertz easily because the increases arent linear because of the heat.

Bloody hell, tahts awesome, i know what im gonna buy when i upgrade.....

But wait, isnt the FX55 still majorly expensicve, how much is the 3000+ in comparison. Thats amazing.

i think i'm gonna go for a venice core

if i buy amd athlon 64 4000+, will i be able to OC it like 3000+, well stock settings of 4000+ are very close in perfomance as OCed 3000+, will i be able to go above 3.0GHz with a 4000+ venice core
