Amd Athlon(tm) Xp @1.1GHz

Is there any Amd Athlon(tm) xp processor that runs at 1.1GHz, because on my mates computer that is the name of his processor and that is the speed. I just wondered weather it could have been set up wrong?

athlon thunderbird was one that had a 1.1ghz version

nope, the athlon XP came after the thunderbird chips. Your friend will have to check what model processor he has or what the specs of his computer should say he has. He'll then have to select the correct FSB in his BIOS or on the jumpers on the mainboard

It should say the model number if you go to the system properties under the control panel, or right click on "my computer".

i'm sure that the athlon xp would show a different model number in the bios if it was downclocked; although its been a while since i've dealt with them and my memory may be playing tricks on me lol
