The AMD 5200+ will beat the E6300 and E6400.

it will probably match it at least i would guess

AMD cost less with better performance.

not quite, for instance the AMD x2 6000 is around $370 wheras the e6600 is around $300, between the two i believe the e6600 would be the better option

Other than cost, it doesnt matter which chip you get. AMD, Intel.. They're just names. And while you may see sometimes that a certain brand name does better than another in certain areas we're lucky enough to have two highly competive companies working hard to earn our cash.

The truth is that the difference between the C2d's and X2/FX lineup of chips is only ever really seen in benchmarks, like this one: http://techreport.com/reviews/2007q1/cpus/index.x?pg=1 So whether you support Intel, AMD or both.. You are all going to get great CPU's. Try saying i'm wrong.

I think prices for performance are relitively the same like on new egg the other day i saw a E6400 and a x2 5200+ were both around 200 the E6400 only $17 dollas more if i remember correctly ... with performance there about on par some better than others on benchmarks.. but the thing that would get me to buy the E6400 is its overclockablity. u can get way more performance outa the C2D than u can with the x2 and FX ..

So for overclocker's i'd say deffinately C2D

for non-overclockers either, either ... AMD is cheaper atm for performance i think.

If u think u might overclock in future ... go with C2D
