It's a decent setup, but its not a super computer by any means. The processor is decent, but the video card is a bit old.

Do you have your heart set on that MoBo? Because socket AM2 might give you more options to upgrade processors down the road. The only two items you listed that I have personal experience with is the Corsair Value Select and the Rosewill PSU. The RAM is great RAM for the price...I've never had a problem with it and no one else I've ever heard complain about it. The Rosewill PSU I had worked but it was cheaply constructed and I didn't trust it that much. It never made any noise or gave any signs of failure but the quality of it kinda worried me.

I want it for gamming, but I only want to spend $500-$1,000 on it. Is there any parts that performe better then what is in the set up that I post, but not over the price?

Why don't you just go the Intel route and get a Core 2 Duo and 2 gigs of ram and a 7600GT or maybe a 7900GS.

Probably not but all you have to do is upgrade the videocard to a 7900GS and I think that should run it on high.
