AMD FX 8350 or Intel i5 3570K for Gaming?

Only a $20 difference here in the US so all depends on budget. 3570k is quad core while 8350 is eight core.

You could get an 8320 and overclock it yourself. A 8350 and 8320 are the same chip I believe, just the 50 has a higher clock speed out of the box.

Well, the 8350 IS better than the Intel, especially for newer games. If you're going to overclock, you're going to need a much better cooler than what the Intel would need, though. And like others are saying, you could technically just get the 8320 and OC it a bit. I went with the 8350 just so I wouldn't have to deal with any overclocking and I must say I absolutely love it.

A word of advice, though. The stock coolers on these SUCK. So even if you aren't gonna OC, at least get something like a 212 for it.

Really glad you went with that board. That's the only 970 board I'd even consider for a 8350 any more. That board has an 8+2 so you can get some overclocking headroom, and you aren't going to fry your VRMs. Also I think gigabyte boards have great quality.

What case are you putting it in? Also did you get the 8320 or the 8350?

80mm fans are kind of small unless that's all your case can fit. Otherwise looks good.
