AMD II Phenom x4 955 Fan auto speed issue

Hey guys, so the past few days i realized my stock fan isn't spinning normally. First cool n quiet is enabled, and normally the fan would spin at higher RPMS when the cpu gets hotter, however the past few days its just been going at around 3400 rpms. Before this happened the fan speed would gradually increase whenever the cpu temps rised, now it doesnt do that anymore and my cpu is getting much hotter than ever. If anyone has a fix for this, it would be much appreciated. Thank You CF!

Take a look at the heatsink and see if there is a lot of dust in it. That would make it less effective and makes the fan work a lot harder.

Theres dust in it, but that never affected it, because there was a time when i didnt clean it for 2 months and the fan still ran at full speed whenever it was hot; I belive dust on heat sink is independent of fan speed.

true. My mistake. PWM control has to do with the voltage if I remember it right.

Well what temperatures are you getting?

Playing bad company 2 usually jumps to around 59-60, and fan speed is only at 4200 max, which is no where near what it use to be. Ive never experienced this before, its a good thing i ran HWmonitor to see the fan speed. I also updated my bios just to check and it is still having the same problem.

Normal - 3400 rpms low, 5400 rpms high
Now - 3400 low. 3800 high (4200 max so far).
