AMD or Intel for my next notebook?

Hey guys I am looking at two different notebooks for my next computer and I was curious which has the bigger punch?

AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M

or

3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3210M

I have always read on here that Intel smokes AMD in performance but I am asking because the Intel Core i5 is a dual core where as the AMD is a quad core. Not to mention if the AMD is a little more powerful that would be cool since the notebook I am looking at is a bit cheaper which I assume to is running AMD over Intel. Hey guys thanks for any information I would appreciate it.

Is there any dedicated gpu mentioned for the laptops?
If not, go for the a10.
But if I were you, I should wait for the a10 5750M

The one with the i5 has the intel HD 4000 where as the one with the AMD has a 2GB AMD Radeon HD 7670M Discrete Class Graphics. Honestly though I don't PC game to much, right now I play Team fortress 2 and maybe when I get my new computer I would play Diablo 3. There are some select games that catch my eye but I am by no means a PC gamer.

What is the laptop primarily going to be used for? Dedicated graphics will kill battery life if it is not switching back and forth from integrated to dedicated.

i5 will be faster for single threaded applications. I think that the i5 might also use less power. Not sure about that. the A10 is nice. Better integrated GPU, full quad core.

I would go A10 just to have the extra power. I would skip system with a integrated GPU and dedicated GPU unless you need to be gaming on the laptop.

Yeah Team Fortress 2 runs okay on my current HD 3000 GPU, personally I think the most I would need for battery is three-ish hours which from what I have seen that is a low standard in computers these days. I am just trying to figure which one will give me my bang for buck if that makes sense, sounds like the AMD setup would be the better option.

Still I would wait for the a10 5750M :D
They'll arrive soon I think, if they aren't already.
Haswell should have a nice improvement in power saving.

Well I am still about a month to a month and a half away from purchase so hopefully they are out by then.
