AMD or Intel?

I have an AMD machine already setup on newegg, but i was wondering if i could get the same gaming experience out of an intel CPU. The main purpose of the computer I want to buy is gaming, but I multitask alot too. Any comments?

Depends. What AMD CPU do you have lined up? This should at least give a general idea as to how much of a difference can be expected.

If you stick with AMD You might want to conisder spending a extra $2 and getting the venice core 3500+ instead of the clawhammer. The vinice core fixes a minor problem with the memory controller of the clawhammer.

Yeah

I think that you will be fine with what you have chosen. Seriously, the difference is not that huge anyway. The AMD should perform better for gaming and in fact will do fine with multitasking. I have had no problems with my AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and believe me...I do multitask a lot!

P.S.: Yeah get the Venice if you can... definitely worth it.
