Amd or Intel?

Hi
I just want to know if I should buy a new rig? Like shift to conroe on july?
Or just stay with amd and upgrade?
 
Actually what are your guys' thoughts on this? Go with a amd proc of a x2 3800 for $169 or a similair prices intel core duo 2? I perfer amd even though intel is going to kick some butt. I just think intel is stupid with everything they kind of do. Like proc naming, etc...
 
i say go with intel if u got the cash if u want something cheap go with amd they are severely lowering there prices adn will still handle any game everyoen says well u can get this on bench marcks i dont really care about benches and if u dont either get an amd wich will play ur games amazingly and u wont pay as much as a conroe
 
conroe will be good as we have seen in the benchmarks but it all depends on what your rig is now and what you want to go to.

Remember that if you have a socket 939 mobo at the moment then you may be able to fit an X2 in that board happily (might need a bios flash to support)

change to conroe and your changing chip, mobo and memory at the same time, possibly working out slightly more expensive in the end.

Personally I am loving the look of conroes power but my next upgrade will probably be to an X2, purely becuase it will be plenty powerful for my needs and much easier to make the change
 
If the x2 3800 and the 805 were the same price and soon they will be, which would you get? Considering all this talk of the 805 outperforming an fx60 with such overclocking cababilites.

I would wait for Conroe to come out, then if it turns out it's that great like everyone said, I would buy it,

btw, I saw you on www.ratedesi.com, it was a total accident, ROFL :D and gave you a 10, say thx (I'm not gay), lol
