AMD Phenom II X4 980 for $171.00

Just get the 970 for $139 at newegg as the 980 is out of stock and you won't notice the difference anyway.

didn't even realize they were out of stock. I almost got the 970, like change my mind while filling out my order, literally, I would just assume spend the extra $30 just to say I have a 980. I'm weird and ridicules like that, i know :D

Hi there,
im not actually here to talk about the cpu u were going to buy, but it says below your messages that you have an 1100T at 4.8ghz.
How is that possible mine failed on me at 4.2ghz is it something i did wrong or did you do something different to me, like keeping a lowish multiplier.

I would not trust his sig. It raises a lot more questions than it answers. He definately isn't pushing even 4GHz, let alone 4.8 on stock cooling.

As for 4.8 on a 1100T, I would think it would be something in the area of a dedicated loop water cooling setup, or LN2 to get that OC. It could possibly be 48*100 or maybe 32*150, or 28*175, or 24*200. I think 200 would be in the top end of the FSB, but I am no expert OCer, so I would check that.

Alright wolfeking you have just baffled my head so bad lol ive got an antec h20 920 liquic cooler but i am thinking of going fully watercooled sometime in the future its just having the time money and patience to do it cuz ive heard that custom watercooling costs a ton of money but dont quote me on that its just what ive heard but erm i tried different settings to get 4.2ghz, i did achieve it and it was stable after like 3-5 hours of prime 95 (i dunno how long i left it on for i left it running whilst i went to a mates birthday party) and the highest temp was 54 degrees but i didnt like the way it was so i took it back down to 3.7ghz cuz i didnt like the fact that it was at 1.54 volts when gaming.
I just wanted to clarify that it wasnt really that possible unless it was fully watercooled, cuz i read that the max you could push it was like 4.2 or 4.5ghz
thanks wolfeking :)

Believe me! He is not doing no 4.8ghz. with a 1100 with a stock heatsink. Normally with a 1100 just to get to 4.0 or 4.1 you have to use around 1.5/1.55 voltage.

actually 1.54 shouldn't be all that bad with a 920 cooler. Don't quote me on that though. As long as your temps are good, then you shouldn't have too much trouble.
