AMD Phenom II

Phenom II will be an amazine CPU for the money. I read somewhere that AMD should take back the price/performance crown. The only way this won't happen is if Intel decided to slash their i7 prices. It's also going to be good for people who already purchased Phenom w/ 790FX/GX boards. It's supposed to be compatible w/ all AM2+ boards on the market.

As I covered in another thread, the 2 shots above are 2 systems we have build with the Phenom II chips.

We got 4 pre-release demos from AMD and are in the process of testing them.

So far we hit 4.2Ghz without any tweaking of any other settings.
 
Looks like they have improved the cores leakage, Since you have done it, kinda backs up what some sites have claimed about overclocking. Plus these are the first stepping release. Looks like it (might) be on again.

Yeh...Thus far the Phenom II's are easier to tweak--than the i7's.

Easier and higher results with new AMD's..
 
4.2ghz omg thats seriously sexy.

I knew AMD would make a comeback....now to see if it can happen with the rest of us :)
 
Damn, these new Phenom's seemed to come out of no where. I'll have to see how they work out...even though mine should be enough for what I use it for...
 
So scooter, so far what do you reckon, are they up there with the i7's? Ive been planning to do a i7 build in the new year, but may swing to these depending (I like AMD more haha just want them to own once again)
 
no kidding, where did these come from, heard nothing of them.

I might hold off til Jan-Feb if these are cheaper/ OC better.
