AMD Turion 64 vs. Intel Core Duo laptops

I've been hearing a lot of good things about AMD Turion 64. How well do these two procs perform?

The AMD Turion 64 is a Single core CPU, but the Pentium M beats it. The Intel Core Duo is a dual-core processor, so it will easily beat it at any kind of multi-tasking.

I would go with the Duo.

I just bought a new HP with a 2.0GHz Core Duo in it. I will let you know how it performs once I get it.

Well before the Duo, it was the Pentium M. Im not sure how the Duo performs, but im sure its just as good or better at gaming.

No because AMD Turion doesnt come with dual core. Unless if AMD comes out with a dual-core processor for laptops

I sure hope so! Hoping to see a significant upgrade from my current notebook in both speed and reliability. I currently own a Dell 600m w/ 1.4GHz Pentium M, 384mb Ram, 40 GB hard drive, windows XP Home.

Pretty sure you won't find better than that, single core.

Anything with an nVidia 7800 or ATI x1600 graphic cards. That's pretty much the "best for gaming" at the moment. As for mobile processors, Intel all the way.
