Heya guys,

what would you go for from the following two:

AMD Turion64 X2 1.6Ghz VS Core Duo T2050 1.6Ghz

Given that the rest of the PC is the "same"

I could not find any decent reviews as far as performance is
concerned. My friend would need to chose one very soon and
I am tempted to lean towards the Turion X2 as opposed to the
Core Duo (Not Core 2 Duo just in case anyone is wondering).
Thanks for your help :)

JAN :D

i've heard the turions generally outperformed the core duos (without getting into model #'s).

No data here or whatshowever.. buuuut... what are you going to use the laptop for if i may ask?
I recall the Turion X2 beeing a dual core processor and the Dore Duo's to be single core processors :o (not 100% sure tough, but i gues that would have some influence in the power consumption aswell)

anyhow,.. over here i heard quite a lot good about the Turions, but i barely heard anything off the CoreDuo's in laptops.. so i could be completely wrong.

Core Duo will kick Turion64 ass.

The only bad thing about core duo is that it doesn't support 64-bit

Dore Duo's to be single core processors

Core 2 duo is dual core
Core duo is dual core
Core Solo is single core
Pentium M is single core
