I have a pc runnning an asrock n68-s with a amd x2 4800 cpu installed and 2Gb ram, my question is ive just changed the case, befoer the cpu was running at between 34-45degrees now in the new case its runnning at between 43-50 degrees, is this safe or do i need to get a better cpu cooler/case fan, its not running any slower i was just womdering why it had just suddenly changed its running temperature the new case is smaller if thats anything to do wit it i dont know, i'd apperciate your thoughts on this matter, Cheers

is this running idle?

its high but not terrible, try downloading prime95 and giving you cpu 100% stress test for 15mins
dont worry about idle, as long as your top temps arent too high

you have changed to a smaller case with prob less airflow

Can i add some case fans to increase airflow? would that help? yes that is at idle speed running windows 7 32 bit, I ran prime95 and the M/B temp went from 35 to 41 and cpu temp went from 42 to 55, i set it to run for 20 mins just to really push it and it only went up to 55 prime 95 said passed 1024 or something like that, i've slid the side of the case open a couple of inches and it seems to be cooling down fairly quickly, what would you reccomend buy a bigger case with beter airflow or put some more fans in this case, It's a case that tiny used to use a few years ago so i dont think its ideal for this processor but my old case didn't have any sides on as i bent them when building my system so they never fit back on
I just thought a case with sides on would be better, what are your thoughts?
Thanks for the reply

did it show your cpu running 100%?

if so then them temps are fine, but if there is options to add extra fans then they wouldnt hurt

intake at the front/side and exhaust rear/top

Yes it showed both cpu cores running at 100% and it oly went up to 55 so ill try adding some fans like you suggest, thanks for the advice i just wanted some reassuranse that my cpu wasnt running too hot and it cooled down quickly when the test stopped, so i think a couple of case fans might sort it
Thanks
