I am planning to upgrade my processor in a couple months, i want to get an fx series processor or an x2 series processor, i use my computer for pretty much everything, playing the latest games, playing music, photoshop, illustrator, gonna start learning flash, internet usage, playing dvds, often more than one thing at once, such as listening to music while doing photoshop and surfing the web. i know the fx's are better for purley gaming and single tasking, and the x2 is more for multitaking, but will the x2 perform as well as the fx in gaming.. and what about the tolerdo core fx, it has dual cores, tell me what you guys think... btw, im more worried about performance than money

The X2 proc is prolly the route to go :) but naturally it depends on when you are getting it and how much money you have to play with

wow, $1500 to spend on a processor alone? unless your really rich, i would go with the FX-55 for about $800

not all for a processor, i want to get a car and a hard drive, the car i will have to wait on, but i NEED the hard drive, and processor is farily importaing

personally, i would choose to buy a car first, if that signature is your computer now, then you should be set for a little while before needing to upgrade.

Space,

For real punch, the 55/57 is the way to go...

but the X2 has an edge on the future...

You won't be able to run the next dual core ready

games if you have a single core processor...

and for single core Who is the King depends on

the application you are using...

In Dual Core, the undisputed King is the X2...

Get an X2. Unless you only play games, an X2 is better + if you are starting in flash, eventually you will probbably end up using other programs that will be multi-threaded. I would recommend getting director personnally because it supports 3d and is much more advanced but it may be harder to start with.

I want a AMD X2 so bad, did you see the 3DSMAX scores, wow, it makes my procesor look like a 386 :).

Even if all you do is play games, getting an X2 vs a FX55/57 isnt gonna make a noticeable [negative] difference...
