AMD64 Driver Confusion

I'm right in the middle of a build and the drivers disk that came with the mobo has an AMD64 driver. Is that a driver for a 64 bit version of Windows or is it for the mobo to support an AMD64 processor? I ask, because I'd rather ignore the mobo's CD altogether and use the platform and display drivers from the chipset makers. Thanks.

My laptop came with that installed, and it's not even an Athlon(or 64bit at that...) I beleive it's something for Cool and Quiet, but I'm not totally sure.
