its actually not that easy to find- here its just a straight answer

I've never dealt with AMD before, but why are these speeds so slow compared to the pentium 4?

Because AMD is more efficient.

AMD uses less clock cycles then Intel, which results in a lower clock speed, but just as good, if not better. The good thing about having a lower clock speed, is that the temperatur of the CPU doesnt get as high
