Android os in PC

i wanted to use android os so i downloaded the iso image and ran it in a virtual machine..but what i want to know is how to use it...what about the browser and messaging...do we need to plug in our cell phones through a usb or cell recomended software like pc suite for nokia..how do we go about it..what can we do with the os in a pc..kindly help

you may need to download the SDK which probably has a ton of tools to use Android OS on a computer.
