Android users, would you like to make your phone faster, much faster?

My two biggest applications, Merriam Webster and Scrabble (18-19 MB apiece) had taken me over two hours combined to download.

Along comes the Turbo Phone app which after installation I began to see a difference. So to test it out further, I reinstalled my two aforementioned apps. This time it only took less than 4 minutes to install each of them, a huge difference, 15 to 20 times faster!

Maybe the best part to this is that Turbo Phone is FREE (with no catches). So if you're interested, look up this app in the Android market using Google.

I felt that the membership would be interested in knowing about this. So enjoy.

???

20 MB apps taking over an hour to download/install?? Something is not right about that, it should take a matter of minutes to install those. Even on my old 600mhz legend did app download/installs usually complete in under a minute, never taking more than a couple for the bigger ones.

For one, its much smarter to download bigger apps when you are connected via wifi instead of through your own carrier. The more aps you install, the faster your battery dies unless you change the sync and update times.

The problem with doing this is that my internal phone storage can be overwhelmed, even with installing apps to SD Memory (in effect, I have to be selective as to which apps to install so there's a bunch of trial and error). In regards to the battery running out, there are apps purporting to keep the battery going which is still an open question mark for me (I'm going to give Battery Improve a closer look as the company that makes that app also makes Turbo Phone which I'm in love with).

Speedyink, as I just said, it IS now taking just a matter of minutes or seconds for me to download an app so you've been blessed with your phone.

Update

Apparently the company that did Turbo Phone (and Battery Improve) took down the links, but whoever downloaded it already hasn't been affected. Update: since Turbo Phone had been removed from the market, the phone has been downloading at its usual sluggish pace except for two nights ago when it was zooming again and then slowed up again.

I don't know why this happened, but I'll try to get to the bottom of this.
