Annonymous Web Surfing Software Worth It?

I can buy software that apparently makes youe IP address annonymous when surfing the web, sending emails, etc. Is this worth buying for around $25? Are there any side effects- like sites refusing to connect you, slower internet speed, etc?

You know this is just ridiculously too PC. I don't know anything about hacking computers, have no desire to do so, don't have the technical ability to do so and just asked a simple question as to whether this program was worth it to use as a basic user of the internet.
Like anything else on most forums, I of course didn't get a straight answer.

i do understand....you would just like to surf the web annonymous like many of us would but its just the forum rules unfurtunatly and they dont allow discussion on proxys

Give the guy a break. As for your question, I don't believe it's worth it because if all you want to do is surf the web anonymously, then you can just use a proxy for free. And although we can't talk about proxies directly, Google "free proxy".
