Annoying COD4 Problem

Ever since I upgraded to SLI and 64 Bit Vista Ultimate, I've been running into an issue where I'll join a COD4 server, and I'll click my team, and I'll get a black screen, then my screen says something about the signal not being detected, then sometimes a message will appear saying something about DirectX crashing, and I'll have to restart COD4, or it will just put me where I was at before the problem started, and when I quit COD4 I get a message from Windows saying something about the Display Drivers not working.

Thanks.

I had the same issue and i solved it by using the drivers that came with the video cards on the cd, all the other drivers at nvidia caused me problems, also make sure under the games options that you have duel video cards set to yes.

I put the CD in when I first upgraded to SLI, and I believe it said something like go to our web page and install the drivers, and I just went to NVIDIA and got them.

Should I try the CD again, and will that overwrite the current version and fix the problem?

And I have Dual Video Cards enabled.

Thanks.

I doubt it would overwrite the current version of installed drivers. You should first just uninstall the nVidia website drivers (currently installed) then just install the drivers from the CD. I had some problems also when I used the nVidia drivers instead of the XFX ones.

I usually use the newest drivers, however if your having problems then using older drivers will often help.
You will need to uninstall the current drivers first.
Then install the drivers from the cd or get older drivers off the web.
