recently my mouse started to move by its own(alot but not continuously) , so i changed it but that didn't fix the problem. I want to know what is causing this and how to fix it.

What type of surface are you doing this on? If there are a lot of scratches on your desk, and you use a laser or optical mouse... it could happen.

Mine is a laser mouse. When i put it on a mousemate, it totally gets uncontrollable. And what program can i use to scan for malware? If Norton anti-virus does that, then it's not the cause.
Thanks!

Is the mousemat a gel or transparant one? Or does it have like a glossy or dull top to it? Try using your mouse on an A4 piece of paper and see if it does it on that. Or get a knock about ball mouse and try one of those to see if it does it with that. If you have the problem with a ball mouse it definitely using the mouse itself causing the problem.

ccleaner only deletes temporary files, there's no need to use that with this problem, although it is a good idea to always use. I used it the other day and cleaned up 1gb of space.

The A4 paper did just fine(thanks Breaks), so i think i should buy a new mousemat(it's transparent by the way).
Thanks everyone!

Your welcome :). I have had a problem like this before myself and I tested it with the A4 paper, mine worked fine also (as I used to have a gel mouse pad that was transparent too). After replacing my mouse mat I havent experienced a problem with the mouse since.
