Another build, final items

looks like it should all work out alright, as far as the thermal compund, you'll want to scrape off the stuff that's going to come with your heatsink and put on the new stuff, but be careful not to scratch up the surface of the heatsink or you might run into problems, as far as how much, I've always heard about as much as a grain of rice, but in practice, I've always put more than that on, you want to use as little as possible while still covering the whole contact surface
 
Is there such thing as too much? Like, I won't empty the whole thing onto the CPU but if I put too much over the recommended amount can I break it?
 
yes, actually, even though it's supposed to be thermally conductive, it doesn't dissipate as well as the heatsink itself can, so too much will make your temperatures rise, I probably use about half a pea's worth on mine when I install them
