Another 'how much can i OC it' thread..

umm....well no one can tell you exactly how much you can overclock, it's hardware dependent throughout your entire system, and is different for every rig. I would shoot for 2.2GHz on stock air cooling, but that might not be possible...no one can tell you.

you don't want to pass 50C for a 24/7 operating temperature...if you start hitting 65C+ power off and back it off a bit...you don't want to start damaging it.

man if only I can get a ocing science project...well it all depends. For example, i have an amd 64 2800+ 1.8ghz newcastle and it overclocks very well. However my motherboard doesn't have an agp/pci lock, atleast not a functionable one, so my computer can't go past 2.05ghz orelse it'll start glitching and stuff. As for temperature wise, it shouldn't go up that high, especially if you have a good heatsink.

You should always overclock little at a time. go say 9mhz at a time (that's what i did). Always you might wana use clockgen, its a program that allows you to overclock without restarting. So you can go a little at a time and see if the computer operates smoothly and always keep an eye on the temp. And you may have to up the vcore a bit too.
