I am looking for a laptop to replace my current desktop. I don't want to downgrade anything from the desktop that I have so these are the minimum specs I am looking for:

Pentium M 1.86 Ghz processor
1 GB of Ram
60 GB Hard drive
8x CD/DVD burner
Looking to spend around $1000

I don't do much gaming, but will possibly use AutoCAD a bit.

Any suggestions?

You're not going to find many 1.86 and 1gb of Ram for around a $1000. Some notable ones are Toshibas M55 and M3, Lots of HP/Compaqs are nice, and check out the Acers. For Autocad, what are you doing with it? Will you be rendering a lot of 3D or mostly modeling? I find that if you're working with a lot of vector lines, you'll need more RAM than a good graphics card. Some people think you'll need a major graphics card when you're working with CAD, but not really- it depends on what you're using it for. I did some setups for "Signa Molds" and "Innovative Tool & Die" in the past. So I've dabbled in that region before. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
