Another PC noob asking about compatibility

Cooler will fit....but my experience with them is that they cool well but are noisey.

Check out OCZ coolers. I use the Vendetta2 and its very nice.

-ps you are gonna love the dual 4870's
 
the noise doesn't really bother me, and the Zalman has extremely good ratings, so I'll stick with that for now. thanks anyway.

also, i only have 1 4870 <_<

if i wanted 2, i'd just go for the 4870x2 instead of crossfiring 2 4870s
