Another Power Supply Problem

Hello people,

i m sorry for another thread.

i have a question to ask you all.

as stated yesterday, my power supply is putting out some bad smell. i called antec and they claimed that it is the smell because it is NEW...they told me to wait a week till RMA..

however, today, i have noticed something else. whenever i turned off my computer, the keyboard light is still on, the power supply or w/e doesn't seem to shut of.

when i turned off the power supply from back of the machine, the keyboard light turns off.

question: is there something wrong with this?
is the power supply still running even if it's turned off?
what should i do? is it abnormal?

Of course that's normal (at least for some computers) Many new ones allow you to power the machine using the keyboard. As for the smell, that's quite normal too as Antec said.

THEN you might have a problem I'd say give it 5 days to a week. If it still smells(but still runs) Well, consider yourself lucky

I just talked to my parents, they don't wanna buy me a new PSU because they smell nothing (cuz they dont stay in my room) and considering i just ordered a PS3, I don't think they will. I was just wandering, if the PSU happens to break, will it damage the hardware i have inside? If that is a risk, I'd have to buy one, considering its not a choice.
