Another Ram Question

I have a Desktop Intel P4 3ghz presently with 1gb ram (2 x 500mb sticks) and only have two slots, both now occupied.
Firstly, is there a way to tell what type of ram I have? (PC 133, etc) I'm not computer savy so I don't know what type to buy.
Also, can I just replace one stick with 1gb and leave the other (then'll have 1.5gb?)or do I have to replace both?

Thanks for any help.

Just so you know 1gb of RAM = 1024mb, in your case it is 2 x 512mb. If you have the model # or serial # of the pc we can find this information for you to assist with the PC specs!
Yes, you should not have any issues if you swap the 512mb stick and replace it with a 1GB stick.

Try program CPUZ (there you can see all the hardware info about the PC)... (According to me this is ddr1 400mhz but check it anyway with CPUZ). And about the switching the ram 512mb with 1gb i am pretty sure that there will be no problem.
