Hey guys, As some of you know, I was pretty much set on getting the HD3870, then doubling up for CF later, but I have heard from my dad that once this purchase has been made, thats it, no upgrades for a while. So, im thinking going with a single HD3870 for a long haul isnt such a great idea
.
So, what should I do? I dont want to spend a ton of money on a single card, so im sticking with the "cheaper" ones
.
Here's what Ive been trying to compare:
ATI HD3870
Nvidia 8800GTS
Nvidia 9800GTX
This will be for a single card set-up, so which will be best?
This is what ive "heard" that I kinda believe:
1. Nvidia is usualy better for single card set-ups
2. The 9800GTX is basically just an over-clocked GTS with a new style
Thats pretty much it
I will mostly be playing CoD4, I MIGHT get Crysis, but I kinda doubt it. So which will be the best that will allow me to use the highest settings and still get great FPS?
Also, a link to a "prefered" brand of the card you choose would be greatly appriciated
Thanks
,
Mike
