another water cooling question

well, i bit the bullet today and ordered the apogee gtz waterblock, and a swiftech mcp-655 pump from performance-pcs.com (i also ordered some green uv spraypaint to spray the entire inside of my case). i'm going to order the rest of the parts i need tomorrow, so i should be building this thing sometime next week. i'm gonna take plenty of pictures along the way for anyone who wants to see them.

i am unsure of how to setup the water loop and was hoping to get some help with it. i think it goes: pump, cpu, video cards, radiator, reservoir. can someone correct me if i'm wrong? i was also thinking of putting a single 120mm radiator between the cpu and the video cards, because i don't want the coolant to be hot before it even reaches the video cards. do you think that's needed? or can i wait to do that when i add the chipset and ram coolers down the road? i'd rather not spend it right now if i don't have to.

Those are two great choices! Just make sure you buy the correct tubing/nozzle combo, as well as adapters if you need them (you may on the pump).

As for the setup, you have it right. You go Reservoir > Pump > Waterblocks > Radiator > Back to Reservoir. You don't need a radiator in between the CPU and GPU waterblocks as the water is moving so quickly it's really not that much hotter after the CPU then it is before it (no more then a few degrees usually). Installing another radiator would probably be worse as it would increase the friction (more tubing and components), as well as causing the liquid to move slower.

i was planning on getting all the tubing and nozzles from the same place. and all the components are going to be 1/2", so i won't need any adapters. what do you think is better, the barb type fittings or the compression fittings? i was leaning towards the compression fittings as they look cleaner, and i can get the swiveling ones.

are hose clamps better than the barb fittings that come with the pump (the type you just squeeze on)? i don't want it to leak, but i want it to look good too. hose clamps brings to mind an automotive look, lol.

The black squeeze ones are horrible, I hate them with a passion. The hose clamps that you screw tight are MUCH, MUCH better.

i will take your advice and use hose clamps. that should save me a few bucks too. thanks for your help, i'll post some pics after it's set up.
