Linksys Wireless Router WRP54G
HP 7915 Desktop XP OS
HP 2110 All in One Printer

Yep, I can't figure out how to print from my laptop to my desktop connected printer. I've read many of the posts and threads regarding this problem but still can't get it right. I have to have the step by step instructions regarding this equipment as I cannot seem to get it with looking at other setups. I set up my wireless network, it works terriffic, with no problem but am stymied by this printing difficulty. Any help would be appreicated.

Ok, I'll try my best to explain it, as I have just set up my printer server :).

1) Set up a home network. Not just connect to the internet wirelessly, but actually set up a network. Use the Windows network setup wizard. Do this on every computer you want to hook up to the printer.

2) Share the printer. Go on the computer your printer is connected to. Go to Printer/Fax, right click on printer, right click, property, sharing tab, and enable sharing.

3) Next to on your laptop and go to the printer/fax page, click add printer, select network printer, browse for printer. Then double click on your network, double click the computer that the printer is hooked up to. Then click the printer and hit OK. Do this on every computer you want to be able to print from.

That should do it. You should be able to print from all the computers connected to the network.

dykt,

Thanks so much. This is the clearest explanation I have seen. I'll let you know how I do.

Thanks, again.

Looks like I am going to have to install a HP Wireless Printing Upgrade Kit to get the 2110v printer to work on the network.

This is wierd...

At home last night I turned on my computer, see info above, and it would not connect to the wireless network. The wireless connection has worked perfectly since I got it connected 2 weeks ago. Nothing I did would reestablish the connection. I got an on screen message saying this computer did not have a wireless card. Anyway, I shut it down and came back 2 hours later, restarted the computer and it connected perfectly. Anyone have any idea why it did this?????
